Introduction
Standby  generator is an essential equipment, normally installed at any premise which acts as an  alternative power supply (TNB) fails. Normally, it is left unattended, and operates automatically during the failure of normal power supply. There have been many cases whereby standby generators were left unattended. As a result at times failed to operate as to the required performance especially during failure of power supply. This workshop is designed for Technical personnel who are assigned to monitor, operate and maintain the standby generator.

Who Should Attend?
Technical personal (Manager, Engineer, Supervisor, Chargeman, Technician etc.) who are directly or indirectly involve in the operation and maintenance of electrical installation equipped with standby generator.

To be presented by:
Hj Rozali 
Has over 45 years of field experience in electrical engineering including 35 years of teaching and consulting to date. Currently serves as an Assistant General Manager cum Technical Director for Karo Engineering services. He has held numerous positions in operations and maintenance, project management, research and development, and electrical design, and has served for both the public and private sector. He also possesses a great wealth of experience in teaching, lecturing and is engaged with Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran Kementerian Sumber Manusia Malaysia, as an External Verification Officer (EVO) for Skills Certificate of Malaysia (SKM),and is also attached with the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia (CIDB) as a Valuation Officer for the Site Supervisor Certification. He has been awarded the Train The Trainer (TTT) certificated by Pusat Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB)

Mr. Lawrence Lai is the Managing Director of Covis Sdn Bhd, a Power Quality Engineering company that specializes in critical equipment support systems where power systems for computer equipment and power quality are a focused area. He leads a team of highly qualified professionals who specialize in advising consultants and end users on power quality strategies to accommodate today’s information technology and telecommunication equipment

Mr Kho Boon Chye
Technical Manager, Covis
Kho Boon Chye is the Technical Manager of Covis Sdn. Bhd. He was the Product Specialist (1985-2006) and Application Specialist (2006-2007) at Emerson Network Power (M) Sdn Bhd. During his years of employment in Emerson, he responsible in performing UPS services and maintenance, troubleshooting faulty UPS, testing and commissioning and generating technical report for operation manager and he is also focusing on Data Center site preparation turnkey-project. Alongside to his service, he has been voted as UPS technical expert due to his vast experience in this industry.


Mr Kenneth Ng
Portsmouth University (UK),
B.Eng Hons (Electrical)
He is a highly qualified professional engineer who specialized in providing consulting services to end users alike on power quality strategies, UPS systems, power conditioning systems, lightning surge protection systems, grounding systems as well as static protection systems to accommodate today’s mission critical facilities, infrastructure and services as well as information technology and telecommunication equipment.


Mr Danny Yee
Wichita State University(USA),
Bac.Sc Electrical Engineering

He is the Project & Technical Sales Engineer of Covis Sdn Bhd. He has been involved in Various Power Quality project such as Auto Backup System; Auto Synchronization & Seamless change over from various power sources. He currently holds a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from Wichita State University, United State.


Mr Ernest Yong
Sheffield Hallam University (UK),
B.Eng Hons (Electrical)
He is the sales and project engineer of COVIS Sdn Bhd. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom. Besides that, he also holds an Advanced Diploma in Electronic Engineering and Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Tunku Abdul Rahman College, Kuala Lumpur.
