Standby Generator- Operation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Standby generator- operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
Date: 10th & 11th August 2015 SBL/HRDF-Claimable
Venue: Kuala Lumpur

Introduction
Standby  generator is an essential equipment, normally installed at any premise which acts as an  alternative power supply (TNB) fails. Normally, it is left unattended, and operates automatically during the failure of normal power supply. There have been many cases whereby standby generators were left unattended. Covis Generator Set

Generator Set

The generator’s primary function of the set of is to convert mechanical energy from the engine into electrical energy. A generator set typically consists of an engine and a generator that are mounted together as a single unit. In certain applications, a generator set may include other components, such as a fuel container, voltage regulator, or an inverter. Covis believes that Volvo Penta Generator set proved good function when compared Generator set from other manufactured.

Covis Data/Line Protection System

Data/Line Protection System

The rapid development of automated controls, telecommunications and fire/security systems has made it imperative to have properly coordinated low-voltage protection. Modern networked industrial facilities require error free transmission of information for maximum productivity and integrity of data. Data/ signal line needs to be protected because they can be a source of harmful transient voltages. One of the key sources of transient voltage is during a lightning strike that can damage all equipment connected along that particular data line. Covis’s data/ signal line protection products feature surge suppression that protects your equipment, at the same time filtering low voltage noises to ensure a clean and uncorrupted signal.

Covis Grounding System

Covis Grounding Systems

In electricity supply systems, a grounding system defines the electrical potential of the conductors relative to that of the Earth’s conductive surface. The choice of grounding system has implications for the safety and electromagnetic compatibility of the power supply. Note the regulations for grounding systems vary considerably among different countries. A functional earth connection serves a purpose other than providing protection against electrical shocks.

Covis Power Supply System

1.       Uninterruptible Power Supply

There is various range of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is offered by Covis. A UPS differs from an auxiliary or emergency power system or standby generator in that it will provide instantaneous or near-instantaneous protection from input power interruptions by means of one or more attached batteries and associated electronic circuitry for low power users and by means of diesel generators and flywheels for high power users. Covis’s expertize is able to provide a wide range of high performance of products and solutions. Moreover, we are ascertaining we have the best uninterruptible power management solution.

2.       Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supply

Diesel rotary uninterruptible power supply devices (DRUPS) combine the functionality of a battery-powered or flywheel-powered UPS and a diesel generator. The power output of single dynamic UPS modules generally higher than that of static UPS systems. Covis believes that NO BREAK dynamic UPS system demonstrates its supremacy when compared to other competitor products.

Covis Voltage Regulator System

1.     Power Conditioner

A power conditioner which can also be known as power line conditioner or voltage regulator is a device intended to improve the power quality that is delivered to electrical load equipment. This device acts in one or more ways to deliver a voltage at a proper level and the characteristics to enable load equipment to function properly. Power conditioners provide wide protection to more power quality problems, such as harmonics, reactive power, power line flicker and resonance. Covis’s expertise are able to assist our customers by providing the best solutions for their.

2.     Voltage Conditioner

A voltage conditioner is an electrical regulator designed to automatically maintain a constant voltage level. A voltage conditioner is an example of a negative feedback control loop. It may use as an electromechanical mechanism, or electronic components. Depending on the design, it may be used to regulate one or more AC or DC voltages.

Covis Power Lightning & Surge

1.     Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS)

A comprehensive catalogue featuring COVIS’s solutions for controlling High Voltage Transients such as lightning and grid switching. Compared to low-voltage event, high voltage can cause catastrophic damages to electrical and electronic equipment. Surge suppressor provide protection from voltage spikes by limiting harmful let-through voltage that could destroy down-stream equipment located further into the grid. As we know, many things can cause spikes and surges, but a solid understand and proper selection of TVSS can assist to solve the most common types of power problems.

2.     Active Tracking Filter

Active tracking filters are used to control low and high voltage transients. Low voltage noise is caused by everyday events such as powering up appliances or motors. Although less dramatic than high-voltage transients, the long term effect of these frequent disturbances can be just damaging. Active tracking Filters provide clean AC power by eliminating lower voltage noise, protecting your equipment against unwanted electrical noise. Covis’s expertise and vast experiences in providing effective solution in order to provide mission critical protection facilities.

3.     Lightning Structural Protection

Structural protection or also known as external protection against lightning provides protection to structure against physical damage and injuries for contact voltages and contact with human beings. The objective of an external lightning protection system is to control the lightning striking point thus providing the lightning current a path to the ground without damaging the structure. Thus, Covis has a highly experiences solution for this problem in order to make sure all the things are under control.
